New Chevrolet Malibu MPG figures out, nice price also.

This as we all know is the New Chevrolet Malibu Eco. Although it won't be hitting the showrooms to early next year Chevy is trying to get the public excited about the new Malibu.

This is easily, the most fuel efficient Malibu. . . ever. A 2.4L Ecotec 4-cylinder and a sixspeed auto bring 180HP. More then the current version. This is the first vehicle to receive GM's e-assist mid-hybrid tech that uses a lithium-ion battery AND a electric motor-generator. The electric motor-generator enables start-stop technology, electric assist and regenerative braking. very nerdy.

GM estimates the new Malibu Eco will get 26mpg city and 38mpg highway. Also did i mention it cost $29,995?

Look at these stats and decide for yourself if you would buy one.

  • 2012 Ford Fusion Hybrid – $29,395 / 36 mpg
  • 2012 Volkswagen Passat TDI SE Diesel (with automatic) – $27,895 / 40 mpg
  • 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid – $26,660 / 39 mpg
  • 2012 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid – $26,545 / 40 mpg
